[ssba_hide]Robbie’s approach to song writing

There are many ways to approach song writing. I usually start with a concept, a story that I want to tell. Once the story is established, then either the music or the lyrics follow more easily. Sometimes it will start with a melody or a groove, but I generally have an idea for a character or a situation that I would like to write about.

The feelings the character has or their behavior in the story are expressed in the lyrics, which is where I like to begin building the song once I have the concept nailed down.
