We’re going to break down all of the parts of my song, The Breakfast Blues. The song is a great learning vehicle because when you study the song or even parts of it, you’ll know how to play an advanced (and great sounding) blues progression.
Through the process you’ll also be exposed to chord extensions, substitutions, octaves, moving bass lines, some finger-picking and even a fancy, two-handed cross-over technique.
Once you learn some of these components, you can apply them to many different blues songs and even utilize them in your own writing and song arrangements:
