[ssba_hide]We’re going to tackle the time-honored standard, Folsom Prison Blues. I learned this song recently because I think it’s a great vehicle for guitar players to develop a number of important skills:
- Moving bass lines
- The “Boom-Chaka” accompaniment (right hand dexterity)
- Chord substitutions
- Use of open strings
- Harmonization
- Keeping time/rhythm
And on top of all that, it feels great when you get it going! This is a really fun song to play.
